  A lovely quiet beach. The waves weren't as intense as Raglan, so it seemed a little safer to swim in. The hot water pools were wonderful. We forgot to bring a shovel, but there were other people there that had already dug some holes. The best time to dig a hole is during the two hours on either side of low tide. The black sand was very hot, so make sure you wear tennis shoes to walk over the dune to the beach.
